Has anyone developed a neurological condition after exposure to paraquat and reversed the condition?

Also can alpha synuclein protein self replication be stopped?

That's the question that is being asked all the time in the scientific world. More and more research is being done into it but as far as I know, none of the Parkinson's drugs work on alpha synuclein clumping.

A mouse model which mimics the propagation of the alpha synuclein clumps has recently been developed. Eventually that will enable drugs and drug/ therapy regimes to be developed to restrict the spread of mis folded templates or better still to disperse them and restore cell viability.

This work has been reported in Canada and if I can find a link to it I shall add it to the post then.

My husband thinks that the Fox Foundation might be doing some immunological work in this area too. If anybody knows of that I'd love to hear about it.

Thanks Soup. Life Extension Super bio curcumin from iherb is supposed to resist clumping of alpha synuclein protein to some degree. The bodies response to the mutated protein is to shut down production of normal protein which leads to cell death. I don't know whether super bio curcumin will allow the body to switch normal protein production back on, but it is a possibility.

Can you send me the link to the evidence for this please. I am very skeptical about claims released from the manufacturer of these products. Evidence, in peer reviewed journals would be useful.

I know curcumin is supposed to be beneficial in Parkinson's but I didn't think that the mechanism for its efficacy had been discovered yet. I would love to be proved wrong.

Hello soup thank you for answering and for your healthy skepticism.

The evidence on curcumin is anecdotal but there must be some justification for their research. CLRO1 however looks promising. Cheers

Thanks for the link. It seems to be in the very early stages but certainly an avenue worth pursuing for research. It works in the lab in this case, I hope others can take it on and extend the idea into other systems such as live mouse models based on alpha synuclein. As for humans it'll be quite a way off as a treatment. Still I suspect.

Yes and for those who don't have time to wait maybe Super bio curcumin it will have to be, even if the healing effect is that of a placebo. Have a nice day.
