I'm seeing my neuro in March and am thinking of talking with him about stopping Mirapex. I only take .25 3X day along with Stalivo.

I am not sure the Mirapex is helping and I think it is causing dry mouth and problems sleeping. Has anyone stopped taking it and were there withdrawal problems? Has anyone replaced it with something more tolerable?

I took mirapex a few years Go. Could not tolerate it I was very sick for 30 days so they gave me Tigan. They said would be rough for the, 1st month. I tried again and it a used Swelling and shortness of breath. I k know going off mirapex tthe neurologist had me taper off for about 3-4 wks. Tour PD symptoms will get worse. I have done that and was scolded and was told not to play Mrs. Mom

When I weaned myself off Mirapex a problem with RLS was exposed. Very disagreeable as sleep was impossible with twinges in arms and legs occurring every 15 seconds or thereabouts Other withdrawal symptoms consisted of feeling very strange. I can't describe what that strangeness was or how it felt other `than to say I had a general feeling of malaise. It was more than this but I can never find a way to adequately describe it. I was glad to start taking the Mirapex again.

Hey Pete, I have had the same experience with mirapex withdrawal revealing RLS -or- maybe just withdrawal masquerading as RLS.. I don't know.. Anyway, I am down to .25mg /day but can't cut it down any more or else I can't sleep either. Have you had any luck yet?

I stopped suddenly and the nausea and compulsions stopped. But I could barely lift my arm, much less walk! Doc switched me to Requip and nightmare started again. I had to throw up in front of him before he switched me to sinimet. This time I titrated.
