Has anyone had a choking reaction after taking levodopa/carbidopa? My reaction after only 3 days was severe.

Are you taking the slow-release version? I ask because I had a swelling in my mouth & swallowing problems when I took this but I'm fine on the normal (chewable) Sinemet plus. Apparently it is the coating on the slow-release version which causes an allergic reaction.

thanks for the info, but do not take sinemet now and I am much better thanks again

My husband had a choking/retching reaction with Madopar (Co-beneldopa). His specialist prescribed domperidone to help. He seems fine now.
