In addition to take prescribed medicine, do you take extra Vitamins or Dopa medicine to support or delay the PD symptoms?
I am afraid that there will be side effect or conflicts if my brother takes extra Dopa during the meals? My brother who has had PD for 4 years, he felt his movement is easier when he takes "Source Naturals Mucuna Dopa 100mg"? He asked his doctor but the doc thinks it is redundant. He is also afraid he might be too depend on these supplement?
Thanks for your inputs and sharing.
God Bless!

I'm sure your post will spark all sorts of discussions and whist reading the opinions please keep in mind what your brother might want to chose, the cost of the medication either 'natural' or prescribed and also the variability in concentration and efficacy of 'natural' sources of biochemically active drugs.
Who is afraid he might be too dependent on these supplements? I am not clear about this.
Whenever it happens, now or 15 years done the line, your brother will become somewhat dependant upon drugs from whatever source as Pd is a progressive condition. Already he finds that with L-Dopa supplements he can get through the day more easily so I would say his body knows what which active ingredient helps. However, depending on where you live in the world and how much drugs cost there are some steps he could take before increasing doses of L-Dopa.
Exercise, exercise, exercise is the first and cheapest therapy for PD however. This needs to be undertaken appropriately and as often as possible. There are plenty of the physio style exercise classes out there on you-tube and websites but as a motivator doing something he enjoys or learning something new with like minded people cannot be beaten.
