I suffer badly from insomnia but have found some success in listening to a sleep app downloaded to my iPad. Just wondered if anyone else has had positive results from using these.

Has Anyone Used a Relaxation/sleep/Meditation App on Their Phone/iPad.

I've tried a few. The one I'm using at the moment is 'Meditation Hypnosis by Rachael Meddows". A lot of them are free to download so see which one is best for you. I'd be interested to hear if it helps you.
I have used smart alarmHD on my Ipad. It is a useful tool to assess how much sleep ,and the types of sleep you are getting. There are shortcomings but I found it interesting to see the unusual sleep cycles I have, and also to listen to the recording of noses I made during the night. It does have limited meditation tapes with it and an alarm function. (Not necessary for many with PD lol)
You can find some relaxing exercises for the morning, in the middle of the day and before sleep at lindahagbarth.se
Free of charge.
You all seem to be in this technical age of something called Apps
it seems there are Apps for almost everything and I still don't know what they are.
Is there one that does the cooking and cleaning and reminds me to take my medication, and feed the cat?
lotl,
Thanks for information on this I shall take a look, btw alarms can be useful to help you take your meds, especially if having sleep difficulties that might make ones days have different start points. Interesting about the recording too, I am told that I talk a lot in my sleep. It would be interesting to know about what!
I am a yoga teacher and have experience with both insomnia and PD. Yoga has made a profound difference in my management of the effects that Parkinsons (and the drugs) bring. I have found that the practice of Yoga Nidra, yogic sleep, has saved me from going insane. You can go to "youtube" on the internet and search for one that suits you. I advise listening to a few until you find the one guided meditation that speaks to you. Keep up the practice and you should have results. Remember, be patient with yourself, don't give up and let Parkinsons rule your life. I'm not.
I use pandora I just typed in relaxation music therapy and I play it on low and fall asleep I find it helps my mind stop racing and I can usually get a good nights rest doing this
