From what I have learned, it is not likely to be available and FDA approved for years. There are many challenges including the risk of excessive cell growth that might influence cancers or create a tumor like growth that increases intra cranial pressure. Gene therapy with viral vectors is probably an intervention that will be available sooner. This is the introduction of genetic material into a cell via a virus. Still years away.

The Transeuro trial has been ongoing for nearly two years and as a paricipant I am confident that it will be completed. I have just posted on trials in general as I should like to share my experiences to encourage others.

It's good to hear that other people are interested in tracking the results of trials. My husband and I (now I sound like the queen!) are members of the Research Support Network of Parkinson's UK and get regular updates on the latest research developments. We are also helping to set up a steering group in the South West region (UK) for developing awareness in and participation in Research. Anybody in the area interested?
