Curiously enough, I do and my skin is very flaky too. And my face is SO oily that it wouldn't surpise me if BP contacts me to secure the oil rites to my head! Both my neurologist and the dermatologist (who i see regularly as a Melanoma patient) both say it is "normal" for a Parkie to have these skin issues.

Yuck!

Steve... Keep quiet about the potential energy that many of us possess. They will most likely develop a "fracking' technique that will destroy our natural good looks. Roger Rain Valley AZ

Rog,

That is a grave concern, I know that I don't want anyone fracking with my natural good looks!!! (Tee-hee!)

Hi DiCan...

I have always had a great tan and tanned easily! Since PD, I no longer tan easily, and I burn! I also get spots...I hate it!

The dry skin, flakey head (head and shoulders does help) comes along with the PD.....and yes very oily face. Lol...Such is life in Parkieville.

Thanks, guess I need to stay out of the sun. I also tanned very easy before.

I have also developed this problem since being dxed nearly 8 yrs ago. I never made an association with PD until I was moaning about the cloud of skin dust whilst undressing for my PD nurse & she told me how common it is, especially dry patches on the face even when the skin is oily. My GP prescribes Dermol lotion which I use in the shower & this works well for me.

My husband has had this problem for years and yes we finally know the answer ! Parkinsons ! We have treid everything .. Our GP told us to use ! HEAD AND SHOULDERS SHAMPOO I thought it might be too strong but NO it isn't .

He uses it daily on hair and face and It has been the best thing we have used .Give it a try ..

OMG Yes! One more gift from our PD friend! Head and Shoulders or Selsen Blue do help. It's weird tho...I have dry skin, flakey scalp, oily face and hair? How can my hair get oily while my scalp is flaking out?? Lol
