Sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis, if you are having the extreme fatigue good luck with the work schedule, lol. I couldn't keep up. Depending on what you do and how fast you find a medicine that works for you, you can keep on working. If not, you can apply for disability (temporary or permanent). Wishing you a speedy recovery, and gentle hugs.
Started methotrexate today with my other drugs. Do you know what I can expect
The only side effects I have with methotrexate is nausea, ( I take Prilosec ) and hair thinning. I take zinc & selenium for that. Everybody is different. I hope you don't have any side effects. I also take folic acid because I have osteopenia because of the methotrexate. Hope this helps.
Thank you how long did it take before you noticed changes?
For the hair thinning it took about 2 weeks for me to notice that I was not losing as much hair in the shower. The Folic acid, I don't know as the doc follows that response. As he still has me on the methotrexate I guess it is working, lol. I hope you don't have any side effects and it works for you. I take 20 mg a week which is as close to maximum dosage for RA you can take.
Does anyone know anything about turmeric as well as apple cider vinegar. Does anyone know anything about medical marajuana for pain??
Sometimes you can call the drug companies and they will give you discounts for your RXs. Also, check with your doc to see if they get samples. As for the doctor visits, maybe hunt for a rheumatologist who is willing to charge on a sliding scale.
