Hi,

Has anyone had success using the adalimumab injections? If so how quickly did your symptoms improve?

Hi, I started the Adalimumab (Humira) injections in late December 2018 (after Methotrexate failed and my Crohn's had become more active again). It's basically taken 8 months for me to feel sure that they are working - confirmed by a colonoscopy last month, which shows no active inflammation or ulceration where there was activity before. That's not to say I don't still get some symptoms (including some urgency in needing the loo after eating certain things etc) but generally feeling much more settled again.

I started on Remicaide but developed an allergic reaction to it after only 16 months. So, switching to Humira is what the doctor ordered. I prefer it by far and have now been taking it for over 4 years and through 2 pregnancies. It seems very safe in my case. Both my babies that were exposed to it in utero are really normal and healthy so far. The older one is almost 4 and he was even part of a study carried out by the company that makes Humira. I hope and pray it works for you!!

It’s positive to hear that you had 2 healthy pregnancies whilst being in it!
