Hi, Welcome, and I hope to be able to help you. sorry to ask but how often are you having bowels opened in a day?, do you go in night? any blood or mucus? also using the Bristol stool scale, what number type are your stools (can just google Bristol stool scale). Also have you experienced any weight loss? and finally has GP carried out any blood tests?

Thank you I would say on the scale most the time 3/4

When I have flare ups I can go to the toilet up to 5-6 times a day or feel like I need to. A bit of weight loss but nothing to much. Yes I've had blood tests done about 18 months ago.

Fortunately I doubt very much its Crohns or colitis as stools are typically 6 or 7 during flare up,. also blood and mucus is present, and frequent trips to loo in night. there is also substantial weight loss by nit being able to eat and or malabsorption. I know with Crohns, periods and differences in hormones can make Crohns symptoms work. Please if you have any other questions dont hesitate to ask x

Hi,

I have endo, but I actually joined this page cos the symptoms are so similar. Have you been diagnosed?

Endo can secrete toxins which inflames the bowel, even if the endo isnt directly on the bowel, this explains the symptoms similar to IBD. (ibd sufferers, please share any anti inflammatory tips! lol). One of the reasons I still check this forum is for any tips managing symptoms.

Because of the similarities in symptoms most Drs will order a colonoscopy to rule out other possibilities such as IBD. Mine came back negative, and so did my inflammatory markers (these would be present in a blood test if you had crohns). I still pass blood regularly (and a LOT!) but everything dangerous has been ruled out, apparently its from inflammation caused by the endo.
