Er... wow, so Week 1 Run 3 completed- almost against my better judgement. amazed to find myself back home and finished without needing to call International Rescue. True, i was hugely reliant on trashy music to get me through, wouldn't normally consider Pink a friend, but definitely could feel more confidence in my feet, and in my breathing. It was all steadier, more controlled- so weird.... This isn't me!! What's going on?!?!
On the positive side, I adore my new trainers which were specifically fitted for me at Run and Become, in Westminster. They were patient with my Newby runner questions and seem to have really done me a service. The shop was totally staffed by women too, who knew what they were on about and were v unfussy.
Now, if I'm doing this.... I need a better sports bra, or someone's going to get hurt.....

Yep Shock Absorber is the way to go - I've had others but they are far superior and specific to the sport. I agree about the trainers, I had running trainers but when I upgraded to 'good' running shoes the difference was unbelievable.
Well done on completing week 1. I am only a run ahead of you and it isn't nearly as scary as it seems. 90 seconds sounds like ages but the more you do the faster they seem to go. Also I am in agreement with the sports bra. They are pretty pricy around £35-40 but well worth it if you are generous in the chest region
Marks & Spencer also have some great sports bras, I used to do a lot of running, and they give brilliant support. I'm just about to start this programme to motivate myself to get back to running again, seems like most people are having good progress. Good luck for week 2 everyone.
Yes - agree about M&S - just got one for £22. Though not much choice in larger sizes. I have to say nothing moves in the one I've got - it's so comfortable I'd like to wear it all the time
