and I just realised I've hit the halfway mark, as I just finished Week5 run2! How on earth did that happen? I ran 8 minutes not only once but twice - and I even thought the 5 minute walk in the middle was a bit too long!
Now I'm beginning to think I need some retail therapy - have been holding off investing in better clothes because "this running phase can't last" but I might have to hit Aldi later in the week (another first - we don't have one in this town). I definitely also need another pair of shoes - ironically for my aerobics class as the running shoes I used to wear there are getting a bit mucky from the park.
The 20 minute challenge is next for me - maybe Wednesday or the first dry-ish day after that?
Have a great week everyone

Well done, thinnerandfitter! Love your name, by the way! Very positive! Enjoy your trip to Aldi. My town doesn't have one either but our local Lidl is also good for running stuff. Not much in just now - just some compression capris for £7.99 and compression vest tops for £9.99. Too cold for capris now so I came away with 2 pairs of gloves with special little pads on the right forefinger and thumb so that you can use your iPod or phone with them on! Have you ever heard the like? £2.99 a pair! One for me and another for reluctanthusband! Good luck for your next run!
I've actually never been to an Aldi or a Lidl so the prospect is indeed exciting According to people on this site Aldi will be getting running things in stock later this week. So far I haven't been cold (except when leaving the house) but I suspect that will change soon. I'll definitely look out for yourspecial gloves!
BTW My name may be positive, but it's all a front. I am indeed thinner than I was (thanks Slimming World) but that was all before I started this running thing. I am also definitely fitter than 5 weeks ago so that's also a good thing.
I see you're a graduate of C25K so I bow with due respect. Who knows in another 5 weeks???
Unfortunately got run 2 and 3 of week 9 still to do before graduation! Hopefully by the weekend I will have the coveted green badge! Can't believe I've reached this far in the programme, seemed impossible a few weeks ago. If I can do it, you can too!
