Achilles problem?

I have a very slight discomfort at the back of my heel. No way is it painful it just feels not quite right. It does not bother me when I'm running. Would it help to do some heel drops? I think I once read somewhere that it was not always a good idea to do them.

Did you increase your pace or distance recently?

It is likely just a slight inflammation of the achilles tendon as you said, and in my opinion you should rest the foot for a few days and stretch all your foot tendons twice a day. Best stretching advice I ever got was to write an imaginary alphabet with your feet. :)

Hi Christian I'm not an expert by any means but I have found eccentric heel drops absolutely brilliant. The family think I've gone slightly nuts - more nuts than the running that is - as I balance on the bottom step every time I go up the stairs, but they've really helped me.

Thanks for the video. Its good to see exactly how to do it, as I would have done it wrong. I'm going to try this and I think between doing this and writing the alphabet in the air, as per ceefin's advice above, OH may think I have lost it too!
