Garmin was too big for my litte wrist so ended up with a new Ipod Touch, does anyone know which are the best Running/Mapping Apps?

I like the Nike running App, you can have feedback every .25k and add your own powersongs.

I installed RunKeeper, so far so good - only 1 run under my (tight) belt) so feel free to disgard this advice. Anyway, it's free, gives you loads of stats, a nice gps google map of where you've been and lets you customise with a play list etc.. Although I just ran it alongside the podcasts which meant occasionally our lovely Laura would get interrupted by a brash american giving me pace information - no idea what pace information is actually.

Oh, didn't read your question properly, I see you've already got Runkeeper. duh.

Hi, can I use my ipod touch for mapmyrun or runkeeper ? I thought it would have to be on a mobile phone that was always connected. Excuse my ignorance about technology !

I think it depends on which type of Ipod Touch you have. My older one was a Nano which I couldn't upload Apps too. This one is a 32Gb 5th Generation with GPS. Have uploaded RunKeeper but it keeps dropping the GPS signal but think this is perhaps due to the terrible weather we have been having, very low thick cloud cover!!

Nike+ is a really good app, oh and it's free. Like Henrietta said gives you feedback as you go, oh and records your route at the end, so you can see exactly where you have been, how far, what time etc. give it a go

I really struggled with runkeeper as it can be really erratic - some runs it was fine and others it'd stop recording your movement, only your time. Not the greatest. Birthday's coming up and I've dropped enough hints for a Garmin so I just hope it's not too huge. A friend at work loves Nike+, if that helps?

I think they all pretty much do the job - I've used Endomondo for the last 7 weeks and its been fine :-)

I used to use the Map My Run app which I really like. Amazeditworks - I now have a Garmin Forerunner 110 and I have a very, very small wrist and it fits fine, in fact I don't even need to have it on the tightest strap! They make a women's-specific version.
