I'm running Race for Life on 1st July which would be my week 8 run 1. Should I follow that podcast and walk the rest or try to run it all?

Do you know how far you ran in your last week 7 run?
You could start off running the 28 minutes then see how you feel - it might be that the atmosphere makes you want to finish and run the whole thing! if not you could walk for a minute or two after to recover then run again if you're feeling okay so you're running for the finish line

I'd just finished week 8 when I did Race for Life. I ran (very slowly!) for 4km, then had a bit of a walk, then ran the rest. Do what feels comfortable, but I bet you'll surprise yourself. Good luck!

I agree with MissV - just do what you are comfortable with. The atmosphere is great and pulls you along.
As you are on week 7 or 8 you'll be fine. If your race splits the starts into runners, joggers and walkers - join the joggers or the back of the runners. You'll find that although there are some good runners there will be a lot of people who haven't been training as much as you and will walk quite a bit. Pace yourself and try to save a bit to run for the finish.
I think you'll find the atmosphere will carry you along.
I do agree with Wilmacgh, I would go with the runners as if you walk you won't be holding them up, I know last year I went with the joggers and they all started walking from the start line so they held me up!
Just go with it and do what feels comfortable and good luck, I've got mine in July too in Newcastle.

Where is your run? I will be on week 9 when I do my race for life on the 1st July. I'm gonna run as normal with the podcast and Laura and then see how I feel. Good luck

Agree with previous comments - just go for it and see how you feel on the day - if you feel you can carry on after 28 mins then great, if not just walk for a bit and see if you can finish afterwards. Good luck!!
