Hello everyone! 😊

I am completing C25K for the second time. The first time I kept it up for a while but then illness and life meant I let it lapse. Second time in and I've just this morning completed week 8 so am really pleased and looking forward to starting week 9. Can't believe I have only just joined the site but hoped it might help with motivation after I complete it.

Its really encouraging to see so many other people doing this journey. I often feel so slow but am gradually working on speeding up.

The other reason I stopped running before was self consciousness. 😟 I had a few not great experiences while running (being yelled at by builders etc.) and felt too self conscious to wear what I needed to, wrapped myself up in layers and then got far too hot! What I have found such a help with this has been saving up for a treadmill. I love it and can wear what I like without a worry as no one can see me in the garage! Perhaps I'll go back to outside running in the winter when its dark so no one can see me.

Anyway, I hope to keep it up but wonder if anyone has any tips on what to do once you graduate or how to speed up. Has anyone tried for 10K? And also, any tips on twingy knee pain?

Thanks all 😊 Keep up the good work!

Congratulations on your revisit to C25K! You are almost there and on completion I will be ready to award you your virtual graduates badge so well done you! And as for those silly twitty builders try to not let them stop you with their childish behaviour from going out side for a run they’re not worth the worry. You are a runner and there’s no two ways about that so go and unlock that confidence and once you’ve graduated why not consolidate your runs and then pop over to the bridge where more fab runners will welcome you with open arms.Remember you are doing this for you and no one else👍Good luck!🙋‍♀️👏👏

sounds like you’re doing brilliantly and I really hope you keep running. I’ve been lucky and only ever had encouraging things said to me but even then, people telling me to ‘keep going’ sounds to me like they think I’m about to expire when I’m keeping going no problem, just v slow. Ignore those pesky builders!

Well done on coming back! I know it's hard but ignore those idiots shouting, think of the good you are doing for yourself while out running 👍🏻

Go you! Get C25K done then you will unlock three more runs to try - they help with pacing, developing speed through interval training etc. When you are ready, come join us on the Bridge to 10K. You don't need to sign up for anything - but there are good ideas/plans to take forward if you want to build up distance/time running.

On those builders - that must be horrible. Don't let them stop you running outside though - you are missing out on some great adventures! I have now (at the age of 65) gotten to the stage where I don't care what I look like or what anyone else thinks of me when I am trotting along. Being an older woman certainly has its advantages - no prisoners!!!! 💪😂😂😂😂
