Ugly Town

Hi,

I live in an ugly town, a very ugly town. But it is well organised, we have a great pool, cinema, library and lots of cycle tracks.

And the first Sunday morning in September every year, the town hall closes off roads and holds a running event. I've run the 10k and 3k in the past. This year as I'm out of practice I'll do the 3k.

It is a great social event with the finish area in the main (but ugly) Square. It feels great to take possession of the streets and feel part of the place.

Today I went out for an early run to build up my stamina and my body strength. Not easy but it was a good workout.

positive vibes right back at you …lots of towns have their ugly bits but they’re saving grace is that once you’re out of the town the outskirts can often make up for it..my town isn’t that lovely but we are about 2 miles from the countryside & the canal is a very lovely place to run…maybe get in the car & drive somewhere if you drive? Having said all that…you’re coping pretty well & your running doesn’t seem to be suffering for it …good luck with your 3k 😉
