Solid Foundations

Soooo - real life got in the way of my running good intentions and compounded with the earlier miserable weather, I slipped off the running wagon.

However, I gave my head a little wobble, gave myself a good talking to and got back to it. I decided to go back to the beginning and hopefully enjoy a few easier weeks to encourage myself.

I have been very surprised at not struggling with the program - even tricky Week 5.

I can only think it is the solid foundations that are put in place, so that if you have a set back or a 'rest', you are still in a good position to come back from.

Now, if it were to cool down a bit (only for the duration of the run) that would be appreciated!

Yes! (Week 1 will, I think, always be a pig for me but completing C25K the first time flicks a switch in your head)

I find that “returning to C25k” is not really “going back”, but it’s a form of going forward.

I’ve found over my only 4 years of running, there are always ups and downs, periods where life interferes and your running has to pause.

But every time I worked my way back to 5k or 7k or 10k, I learned something new!

At the moment, I’m also enjoying another C25k journey. And yes, I can be impatient but I’m also enjoying this different but still familiar journey immensely.

Happy running!

Hello again!

Yes, indeed, so many of us, like you, have found that by repeating, either all of bits of C25K... we find a reliable and familiar way to get moving!

Like an old friend, we know so well and just relaxing, knowing that as move gently forward is brilliant.

The cooler weather will be useful as the lovely, longer relaxed runs which follow Week 5, will be helpful to you,. Just hydrate well and take it very gently, I know I am heading out as early as possible and even then, finding the shadiest route possible!

HUGE well done to you, stay cool and enjoy!

Excellent! Well done!

Such great news to hear you have made it through Week 5! You're on the down hill side.

The heat has been a bit much for most, I'd say. Try to get out there early and take some water in case you need it.

All the best and do keep us posted...
