seasonal, 40+ hormonal runner back again!

Hi, this is my 3rd time doing the c25k - 3rd year running - Ive been lucky to complete each time and although very slow I do get to 5k, normally finishing the programme running for 30mins, and progress to around 43min for 5k distance, then get to 35mins. But I am a seasonal runner and give up around October each year due to the dark night creeping in. Hoping to use the gym this year instead of just stopping in October, as I am a 41yr old female and this year I feel the most unfit going into the programme - perhaps hormones and age are a factor, I’ve defo noticed the dreaded midlife middle weight gain creeping on, so would make sense!

Anyway, I just finished wk5 run1 this morning. It felt good, and I’m looking forward to the change in runs over the next few. Enjoy reading posts on here - what a lovely community!

Welcome back! I think I remember your story… you’ve got a quirky pattern but we welcome all sorts here!! Hope you have fun with this journey. You know you can do it which can give you lots of confidence. You’ll got a moment where you suddenly feel fit and raring to go, and that will make it all worth it. Can’t wait to hear how you get on!

Congratulations!

I've just finished my C25K a month or so ago and, like you, I'm in the low 40's for my 5K. The consistency of the three runs/week has brought my time down very gradually. It's nice to see. But I'm not in a hurry...

Good luck!
