Week 7 Run 1 done!

So after 3 kids and putting on many kg’s and feeling utter down health wise, I’m back on it with couch to 5k.

now I must add I’m a dad but I seemed to have got all the pregnancy weight😂

Anyway, 7 weeks ago I was rock bottom 17.5 stone, feeling miserable, eating to make myself better then feeling even worse. I was huffing and puffing up stairs etc.

I did c25k many years ago and I let myself go, but I started from scratch and I’m feeling blooming great. I did run 1 of week 7, it was a mentally hard 25 mins but my god it felt good, I doubt I’ll be doing 5k in 30 mins by week 9, but I don’t care tbh, I’m moving!

The plan is so good at getting you moving, it’s helped me get my eating habits sorted and I’m way more active in daily life, thankfully I’m down to 16 stone , just another 5 to go!

don’t give up, running really does help physically and mentally.

Well done. It's a great program isn't it. I did C25K in 2014 (at 51) and am still a keen runner. My advice would be to run at an easy pace through the C25K program. On an effort scale of 0-10 where 0 is doing nothing, and 10 is running as fast as you possibly could, then run the program at about 5 effort. Even when you have completed C25K, at least 80% of your weekly running should be at that effort of 5/10. Welcome back to running, take it easy and enjoy it :)

Fantastic, well done for turning things around. Your experience sounds very similar to mine. Keep up the good work, you sound so motivated and happy to be getting outside I think the last 2 weeks will be a breeze for you.

🍏Good advice given here already! Very few of us graduated running 5K in 30 mins. There’s time for that after graduation. It’s far more important to build up strength and fitness & that happens initially by running slowly!! Well done!! You sound highly motivated and determined 👏
