Back injury

Morning all

I strained my lower back moving some furniture (hello middle age) and had to stop running as I had terrible pain there and in my hips. This has receded over the last 4 weeks to a lingering stiffness. I feel ready to run (though put off by the heat) but wondered if it is better to wait until all trace of back pain has gone or to just get out there. I wouldn't want to make the back worse again.

Thanks all

Sonia

Obviously no one here can offer medical advice, but in general if it was me I'd listen to my body and wait until all pain was gone

Oh no! Poor you! Have you seen anyone about it? The safest bet is to wait for your pain to go before started running again. There may be other suitable ways to stay active, such as swimming, Pilates, walking etc which will put you in a good position to come back to the runs.

Wishing you a quick recovery ❤️
