C25K Re run .... Week 2 run 2

A little delayed due to hurting my back again last Wednesday, So a little nervousness initially, which although reasonable it turned out to be unnecessary.

The biggest problem it turned out was my weight!!

Yes, you heard correctly! My weight!!

Let me explain πŸ™‚

Since coming out of hospital at the beginning of March I have been following a cardiac rehab course which is going well, infact I have increased (with their approval) my daily step count to around 10000 sometimes 13000 on most days .

My diet has also changed .

It wasn't particularly bad but I have become even more strict with my food choices and portion sizes!

The upshot of these changes has so far resulted in a 1 stone weight loss.

That's great I hear you say !

So what's the problem?

Well, my running shorts have an internal drawstring!

And since first running in them (pre heart attack) I have never adjusted the drawstring.

So off I set today on my week 2 run 2 without giving the shorts another thought .

During the first 90 second run I could feel them slipping lower and lower .

The bottom of the legs were almost down to my knees.

Then luckily the first 90 seconds was up .

Great! I can pull the shorts up .

The rest of the runs went exactly the same .

Run, walk, pull up shorts .... Repeat!

I didn't have any problems with my back or with the runs , just my shorts.

I did on a couple of segments manage to pull them up during the run .

So as I say, a slightly delayed week 2 run 2 but completed without any physical problems.

I was mainly concerned about the shorts for 2 reasons .

1. They could have tripped me up .

And

2. I don't wear anything underneath πŸ˜‚

(Thought I'd leave that bit to the end)

No picture taken today but the one posted was of a very unusual flower I came across on a walk the other day !

Happy running πŸ™‚

Or start off with them up around my neck 🀣Actually, on 2nd thoughts, that wouldn't work either 😁

Brilliant? I've had that problem or something similar but it didn't seem so funny 🀣 tie them tighter next time.

What is it with you men and underneath clothes?

So happy though to know you are running and improving your health following what must have been such a life changing event earlier in the year

omg clothing malfunction haha! Time for new kit! I had to laugh at the image though! So great that you're running again though and an optimistic flower!I kind of wish my running clothes were so roomy - I'm afraid I've piled on some weight. Not overweight but bigger than I was and my leggings are a bit tight!

Oh, I was (still am) overweightBut I guess I was in denial.

That now has to change and it will πŸ™‚

Lol well done on the weight loss! Losing the shorts, though, might have proved a bit tricky 🀣. I have a pair of leggings that keep slipping down at the waist, they’re so annoying! Had to adjust them about every 3 seconds or so, so they’ve very much relegated to the back of the drawer.

Well done on the run too and for spotting the very strange flower 🌺.

Thanks Kate 😁Yes, I bit more weight to go yet but I'm on the way .

New shorts may be in order soon 😁
