well done, you're well over the hump and on the home stretch now!

running uphill, I don't have much advice except I slow down and shorten my stride, but mostly because that's just what happens rather than make a conscious effort. Cmoi is a hills expert though, she might have more advice.

I’m on week 7 and amazed that I can run for 25 minutes 😁 I’d also like some advice on how best to tackle hill sections - the route I take is mostly flat but there is a short but steep hill section in the middle - so far I have just done a kind of short stride stagger pace to get up it (why should we not lean forward?) and I do a measured slow pace to go down (to protect knees ?)

for going down hills, for me it depends on the steepness

I love running downhill if it's not too steep, if it's very steep I do it much the same as if I were walking it sort of zig zagging so I'm not actually running down hill more across and down, but that's only if I feel I would have trouble stopping if I run straight down (does that make sense). As for leaning forward, going uphill, I just do what comes naturally and again it, for me, depends on the steepness of the hill. I kind of just do what I would do if I were walking but a bit quicker.

Well done you... great hydration is key all the time... not just on the run day and especially as the weather heats up:)

Hills... well, they are our absolutely our friends... they do so much for our running; when you are having to run on hills, it does improve leg-muscle strength, enhance your stride, and impact so many parts of your running body and the way you run!

Although at first you may find it feels like a struggle, hill running will make you a stronger, and and healthier runner.

Much has been written about the technique for running up hills, but people are different and what works for one my not suit another.

Generally the advice may include shortening your stride, realising that your pace will not be the same as on the flat, baby steps and trying not to lean forward.

The short answer is, just do it and take it gently...the more you do, the stronger you become.

The old saying rings true... hills? We just get over them :)
