Wow! 20 minutes running non-stop! It was hard, all of it has been hard because mentally I don't want to do it, but I know I feel better afterwards so thankfully I have been mentally strong enough to kick myself into getting my kit on and hitting the pavement. Last week was week 5 but due to then snow I missed two runs so just restarted this week. Rather take a step back then throw it all away due to injury. On to week 6 on Monday!
Week 5 completed: Wow! 20 minutes running non... - Couch to 5K
Week 5 completed
Congratulations to you Mamanurse on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran
So sensible to put off the run until conditions were right. Fantastic run for you today-I bet you’re still grinning! You should be so proud of yourself.
Running is so much of a mental game. Every time you finish a run you’ve had to struggle with, that gives you more ammunition to fight off the gremlins that might try and tell you you can’t you it. You can-you did!!
AlMorr is right about week 6-many posters struggle when they get a bit excited seeing intervals again and on a high after week 5. Take it steady and you’ll be fine.
fabulous! Week 5 is more about the mental battle rather than the physical so sounds like you have nailed it! Good luck with week 6!
Well done Mamanurse. I think we hit a tipping point where the time and effort we have invested in getting fitter exceeds lack of motivation for any one or two runs. I guess it's different for everyone but if yours hasn't fully kicked in yet, it will.
