Thank you to everyone who responded to my post ‘why is the run 1 of week 6 so hard?’
I read all of the information, checked out links and watched the video on jogging. Today was enjoyable. I thought, as I have in the past, that I just had to grin and bear the elements of running I just didn’t like, which seemed to be quite a lot of it. I’m so pleased I checked out this community and grateful for your feedback. This has been a massive step forward in my learning and understanding about what I’ve been doing that hasn’t helped and how easy it is to change and adopt and make running an enjoyable experience.
All I have to say is wow!😀

This is just lovely to read! Sometimes I think we really need those runs that don’t quite go the way we’d hoped to help us progress by making us think about how we’re running.
What skill can you learn without ever finding anything difficult? Nothing worth doing I’m sure! Plus, you may find you look back really fondly on some of the hard ones and marvel at the grit you had to get through it. There’s one particularly awful long run I did that was just bad from start to finish. I still remember it so clearly and now I can look back and feel so proud I’d got through it. I’ve definitely forgotten a load of easy runs of the same length!
So glad you had a good run this time. There aren’t that many left before you’ll be requesting your graduate badge. Enjoy them all and hold on to your smile 🏃♀️💪❤️
