Today was wk5 run 3 and I was SO up for it and thought I would incorporate it with the parkrun. My warm up walk was up to the park and set off at the start. I don't know what it is about the park run, but I had to walk a little after about 13mns. I felt as if I was running in treacle and the thought of running/walking the full 5k did not entice me at all. I did start running again and came out the park and ran my normal route home so I think I did about 18mns running.
I don't know if it is because I know the route and know how much distance is left but it just throws me completely. Should I try the actual route on my split runs/unsplit runs? Or should I just leave the park run until I am running the full 30mns? I do run round the park on each run but not the same route. Your expertise would be greatly appreciated as I don't want to lose my enthusiasm by being demoralised.
I am going to do 20mns on Monday again and hopefully will be able to complete it.

I'd say if you're building back up then leave the parkrun for now and resettle in the program. Maybe you're being drawn in by the pace of the other runners. Could even be the surface and any incline (even slight) on that particular part of the course.
Yes I thought it might be a faster pace but I didn't feel faster than I normally do. I will just concentrate on the plan for now. Thanks for your input.
Well done to you Returnagain on completing all the runs of C25K up to run 2 of week 5, run 3 of week 5 is a milestone run, however, I don't think that you should have done it at a parkrun with all those other runners around you.Take a extra day off running and try running run 3 of week 5 yourself around that same park at a slightly slower pace than you did today, drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration, good luck. 👍
