Just finished my first run of C25K, I have completed it before but for various reasons I stopped so I’m starting again. I have a blister from my run, any suggestions because I don’t want to run is discomfort.

Congratulations on starting C25K with run 1 of week 1 and welcome to the forum, take all the runs slowly, you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration, no running on consecutive days as that could cause a injury, regarding your blister, sorry about that, it might be caused by wearing the wrong shoes or socks, if you wish you could try a gait analysis at a specialist sports shop, they would advise you on what running shoes you can wear as well as socks to match, good luck for your running journey with C25K.

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

Blisters suggest that your shoes do not fit well.

Running socks are designed to minimise the risk of blisters.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

One way to avoid blisters is to wear thin socks inside your normal socks. They're caused by rubbing, which might indicate your feet aren't fitting in your shoes correctly.

In the immediate short term, get some proper blister plasters from a pharmacy. They've got a special gel, very soothing and protective, much better than standard sticky plasters.Good luck!

I used to get blisters until I read a post about using the two extra holes at the top of the trainers, which hold your foot more secularly and cause less friction.

Hello,I just saw your post. I'm just end week 1 with a heel blister and a hamstring...what did you do about yours? I've purchased heel blister plasters and they seem to stay on...I got the blister with old shoes...last night I soaked the foot: put ointment and wrapped it in clingfilm and soft cotton sock - I was noticeably slower and did my jog on the spot - but it was something over nothing...I think I'm week 1 again before moving on...
