I’m so fed up I was really enjoying my 5k runs they were helping my weight loss and my mental health, I don’t even know what’s wrong with my foot it’s ok as long as I don’t walk or stand it for a long time I feel trapped not knowing what’s wrong with it

Let's hope the scan shows the problem. You will have to wait for a professional opinion.

If you are not aware of knocking or straining your foot or the vicinity, my questions would be "What are your shoes like and did you have a gait analysis?"

Shoes that give inadequate support can lead to all sorts of issues.

Best wishes for a speedy return to running.

Oh dear, how frustrating for you!Just recovering from something similar myself, a strained ankle ligament from overdoing my first Parkrun while wearing worn out running shoes. I managed to self diagnose my problem which meant I was able to ask the dr/physio relevant questions when they confirmed what the problem was. Maybe this would help you feel less powerless? The initial approach for most injuries seems to be similar, rest, ice, compression, elevation, painkillers, so it’s unlikely you’d harm yourself.Like IannodaTruffe says, shoes are incredibly important. Not sure how it works for you but the idea of a gait analysis and new trainers really cheered me up while my injury healed.
