Will my legs ever feel rested again?

I'm now running for 30 minutes which feels great (mentally) but I feel like my legs are perpetually tired. I warm up/stretch before & after my runs. On my rest days I might do some yoga/pilates or dance but I mostly walk a lot (I live in Edinburgh and don't drive so I'm forever walking up and down hills). I've started taking 2 rest days between runs but even that doesn't feel like enough. Does anyone have any magic tips for resting your legs in between runs? Or will this just be my life from now on, living with constant leg fatigue?

Are you drinking enough water ?Tired or heavy legs is often a symptom of dehydration.

As a runner you should aim to drink 2.5 to 3 litres a day even on non run days

Welcome to the forum.

Following on from Instructor57 this post explains the crucial nature of adequate hydration healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Are you doing dynamic stretching pre run and static stretching post run? They should not be confused. The guide to C25k has links to both types healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and a lot of other tips.

If you get your stretching regimes and hydration correct then you should not be condemned to a lifetime of tired legs. General leg strengthening, as linked to in the guide will also help.

If you have graduated you might find this guide to post C25k running helpful healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Adding to the previous posts, are you running too fast? Perhaps a slower pace for a while may help your legs. Keeping hydrated is key in this weather as already mentioned.

I agree with the above, my legs do feel better when I’ve hydrated better. I know it’s only drinking water but I do find I really have to make a conscious effort to drink enough. Not to mention all the extra trips to the loo! 😂
