I have got up to the 5k and done about 10 of them now. Silly me, I thought it would get easier. Is it because I’m more ‘old cock’ than ‘ spring chicken’, these days? Don’t he me wrong, I’m very happy (or is that super happy?) with my progress

When does it get easier?
I don't know about old cock, I graduated from C25K slightly less than a month after my 72nd birthday, when I was doing C25K I was running 3 times a week, since graduating I have been running two times a week, mainly 5Ks, but I have have also ran 10/10Ks and one 10 miles run, I think if I was 44 and not 74 as I am now I would be running 4 times a week, not 2, so for you to enjoy running, run a little slower and try to run at least 2 or 3 times a week. 😊 🏃🏾
Slowing down to the recommended easy conversational pace makes it more achievable and for most, more enjoyable.
Say this sentence out loud to yourself "Am I going slow enough to enable me to speak this sentence in one out breath?" If you cannot, you are going too fast.
I bet you would find W1R1 of C25K very easy now.

If it’s any help Woodchip, I graduated 18 months ago and still find it quite hard! But when I went out this week I realised for the first time ever, I wasn’t plagued by the toxic 10! Doubt that’ll happen again but it was nice!
What’s the toxic 10?
They will get easier if you bridge to 10k. If you just stay at 5k they won’t really.
Slow down and work on extending your distance, 5k seems to get easier. Now I say, ‘I’m only doing a 5k today’ as if it’s nothing 😂😂
Ok, thanks for that Old girl (seems a bit rude calling you that!)
