Took a couple of extra days off as felt a bit rough.. Being more careful due to pneumonia last year. Felt good this morning although waking at 4.45am wasn't ideal. Stuck the trainers on and was ready to go but couldnt get C25k app to work.. Reinstalled it so Michael could carry on encouraging me... Another time this would have been an ideal get out but I'm feeling more determined today... 25 minute run coming up.. I was a bit nervous it's taken about 7 months to get back to this level.. Stuck a Rich Roll podcast on and just went for it... Not fast as I listen to what Michael says... First 10 - 15 minutes always seem tough, the legs are heavy and all the niggles in my feet, knees and legs tell me it's OK to stop but my brain is stronger now and I manage to block out the negatives and the last 10 minutes were OK.. The sense of achievement is great amd I love the little victory and Michael telling me I'm a runner now😁... Have a great weekend, do whatever you can to push yourself forward however small the step is...

Well done.

The first few minutes of any run are known as the Toxic Ten, explained here healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and why it is not a good idea to push hard at the start of a run.

Heavy legs can be symptomatic of poor hydration. As a runner you need to drink a minimum of 2.5 -3 litres of fluid each and every day, running or not, as mentioned in the guide.
