Rest days

Is it ok to have 2 rest days between each running day instead of 1? I’m doing week 3 and I have joint hypermobility syndrome (as well as being overweight) so I want to give my body time to recover between each run. I have always felt much better running after a 2 day rest. Thanks x

Of course! Remember, the plan is a guide, I found I needed extra rest days and ran twice a week, worked for me!

You’re doing great 👍

Welcome to the forum.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Also don't run on consecutive days to make up for it. 2 or 3 days rest is fine. Once you get stronger you may find one day is enough sometimes. Remember you can do strength and flex exercises or cycling or walking or swimming (soon) on rest days as these are low(er) impact activities.

Most definitely take as many rest days as you like! Just don't skip any rest days.

I have mild joint hypermobility too (EDS-H).

I can do tricks with my fingers, shake hands behind my back, have flat feet, smooth skin and the classic narrow crowded mouth with high palate.

But I also wear the most unlikely shoes!

Me too -except the shoes as I have wobbly ankles 🤪

Hey fellow hypermobile person :) I would say it's fine, I take between 1-2 depending on what I need. Just started c25k but used to run loads years ago. Good luck
