Well, I finally ran 5k - it took me about 20 weeks in total but I got there. I’ve been so lucky to have a ‘runner’ of a neighbour who has supported me through it. It was in the pouring rain and wind - I think it kept my mind off my legs :) Love all the comments and info on here, it really helped me on my journey. After a gap of not running for about 30 years it really feels like an achievement!

Congratulations on running your first 5K, well done, that was very nice of your runner friend who helped you to achieve thst wonderful goal to run 5K.

Ha ha, too true. 40 mins for the first after hip probs, I was pleased with that.
