W5R2 Complete!

This is my first post here, but since this is probably the run I'm proudest of so far I thought it was the perfect time to say hello! It's been a full week since I did Run 1, the longest break I've taken between runs since starting the programme. I considered repeating Run 1 again but I decided just to give the second one a go and I actually managed to do it! I was definitely flagging a bit by the end but I managed to keep running for the full 8 minutes both times.

It's amazing to me how quickly I'm able to recover during the walking bits. That being said, I'm a little nervous about Run3 and not having any recovery walks, but I'm doing my best to try and turn those nerves into excitement instead!

Cheers, Jess :)

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

W5R3 is actually your shortest workout since W3 as explained in this breakdown of W5 healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Enjoy your journey.

I just did Wk5R3 and if it helps I visualized saying to the runner in my family........"I RAN 20 minutes" He appreciates the effort.

You'll be OK, just stay with positive thoughts. I remember my early days running and repeating out aloud "you can do this cause your a runner".... I can't imagine what anyone that might of heard me was thinking 😂🤣

But who cares we're runners and they're probably not!!

Trust the plan and trust yourself 💪👏🏃‍♀️
