Injury Update

Went for a walk to test my damaged hamstring. It held up fine but it’s still a bit tight. As soon as I started walking I realised I’ll need to take at least another few days off, if not weeks. I’m going to keep an open mind about when to resume running, but I won’t come back until 100% better.

Everything I’ve read about hamstring injuries says you have to have complete rest for 48-72 hours and then rehab the muscle. Nordic stretching seems to be something that is encouraged but I’m scared to do any type of stretching at the moment as that’s how I put it out in the first place. I’d love to go for a swim and depending on the tier 3 restrictions that may or may not be a possibility.

It’s a shame 2020 has to end with me injuring myself again as the running has been one of the few bright spots during this diseased year. At least I am alive and keeping safe and doing everything I can to keep myself mentally and physically healthy.

Any chance you might get a medical professional to look at it and give recommendations?
