So after running my longest distance and longest duration on Thursday where I completed a 7km, I wanted to go out for a shorter distance on Sunday to test my pace so did a nice 2km run which was enjoyable.
Another 5km PB
I felt as if I could have gone out again yesterday but decided against it so decided to go out today where I ended up completing my fastest 5km yet. Only by 31 second but meaning, I'm getting closer to getting <40mins for a 5km
Time today was 41:48 with a pace of 8'16" so hopefully I can keep going in the right direction
The 1st of November was the last time I reached a 5km PB so must be something with it being a new month!!
NRC Challenges
Has anyone else used the 'Challenges' section of the app? I've selected December Weekly Challenge which is doing 15km in a week and I've also selected December 50k Challenge.
There is a December 100k Challenge but I don't think I'm keen on doing that considering I'm planning on indulging for 3 solid days a Christmas. If there was completing any form of Toblerone Challenge I'll smash that though!
Question
Have any of you started running consecutive days yet? I've seen many adverts for 5k a day for 10 days which I feel is way too soon for me but I've also seen one which is something like 'a mile a day for a month' which I like the idea of....

Well done for mixing up your runs with a shorter 2K run. It’s on those runs where I can often see my pace starting to improve, even if I can’t sustain it over longer distances. Sometimes I do interval work, running for 60 seconds and walking or slow jogging to recover for 90 seconds. Repeat as many times as you want, I usually do 8 repeats and then make it up to 4K by slow jogging.
I think it was only after I was running regularly (and slowly) for over an hour that I saw my 5K pace improving. I don’t really like that distance, but go back to it every few weeks just to see. I like to run for 4K on my other run, because I know I can do that within 30 minutes.
I won’t consider running on consecutive days until I’ve been running for a year. I don’t do any challenges on the app because I do them on Strava. Usually a 5K every month, also a 10K and others that crop up if I think I can do them!
Well done for your 5K PB! Always good to get a PB 👏👏👏👍
Well done on the pb and regular runs.Remember to spend up to 80% of your running time at an easy pace and only push pace in the remainder..........flat out all the time is not the best way to develop your body.
