I am mum to five grown up children and grandma to one beautiful little girl. I was always active but five years ago had a bad bout of confirmed flu which has resulted in CFS. It has taken me this long to regain a moderate level of activity. By goal is to run 5k and live my best life.
I can do this : I am mum to five grown up... - Couch to 5K

Good luck. This is an amazing programme.
You have a lovely dog, good luck for your running journey with C25K, many people find running an amazing thing to do and it's the best time of their life.
Take all the runs slowly, you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, drink plenty of water the day before you run and some before you run, no running on consecutive days as that could cause a injury.
Welcome to the forum and well done on your decision
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
Enjoy your journey.
You can do this. It’s not a race or a competition and i still cannot run 5k in 30 min so accept you are moving, it is a joyful thing and your first pair of running shoes will feel amazing. I repeated weeks quite happily and the only person judging you is you so don’t! Be your cheerleader and enjoy 😊 it does work.
Welcome to this wonderful forum. Good luck with your journey. Don’t rush, just take as much time as you need to complete each set of 3 runs. When I started I made sure to leave at least 2 days between each run which worked for me. Doing dynamic stretches before and static stretches after also helped. As CaptFrey says not many of us manage 5k in 30 mins ever!!🤞👍
Welcome and well done on taking the first steps on your running journey! You can totally do this, just remember to take things SLOW. Try Googling ‘Japanese slow jogging’...we did and swear by it! It’s not a race and sometimes you will push yourself but you will be amazed at what you are capable of! Best of luck and keep using the forum, it’s full of lovely people and really good support and advice. Happy runnings 🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️🤞🏼🌟
