Hey Buzzbeebh, I would get your running stuff all set out tonight ready for a run tomorrow (especially good if you run first thing). That may mentally set you up for getting back out there. The other thing to try would be just go out for a run - but no pressure to complete a specific duration or distance - just run until you feel like you’ve done enough. You may start and then end up doing the 28 minutes or maybe just 10 but at least you’ll have dipped your toe back in the water! I’m sure it will give you a boost either way. However don’t beat yourself up about it too much - you’ve just had a few extra rest days (I had to have a week off due to my injury and it didn’t do me any harm). 👍🤞

Thanks so much for the advice, both good things to try, I think I found the last run a bit difficult for some reason and it’s created a mental block. So if I go without any pressure that might help, thanks again 💕

No worries 👍 You’ve come too far - just remember if you struggled on the last run just slow down on the next one. Deliberately start slow and if it feels comfortable at the half way stage then speed up from that point. You’ll get your mojo back when it doesn’t feel like a slog! 🤛

Hi StoneDragon. I followed your advice, put my running clothes iut at night. Allowed myself one snooze after the alarm went, then went out at 6:30. Had a beautiful run on a cold Autumn morning with the colours turning in the park. Completed W8R3 in the end as I didn’t pressure myself as you suggested. Thanks a lot for your advice and taking the time. Love this community, thank you all. 💕

Fantastic - well done. I’ll bet you felt so much better for it too? 👏💪

I graduated today and hopefully you’ll be there as well in a week or so 👍😁👩‍🎓

Congratulations on your graduation! 🎉🎉🎉 look forward to getting there.

At this point in the running programme I think its discipline that keeps you going. Put runs in your diary and just do it. I think sometimes, if you let too many days go by, it can be daunting. But you will feel so much better for doing it!

Thank you helenwheels, that so true. I’ll do that for the next 3 runs and then hopefully on to consolidation runs! Best wishes to you for your running. Thank you for your advice 💕🙏🏼

Hi. I heard a little while ago on the podcast I listen to, you'll never regret the runs you do, but you'll always regret the ones you don't.

I've had this a couple of times, and the next run is always great, think just because my stupid brain is convinced it's going to be awful again, so I don't expect too much of myself.

Just do it, you'll feel better X

Thank you so much, Imoca. It’s exactly what I did in the end and I did feel great afterwards. Best wishes for your running. 💕

Great. One of those things, always going to be great runs, bad runs and ok runs, and the joy of it is you're never gonna know unless you go. Thanks, starting w8 and looking forward to it 😄
