I've recently got into Couch to 5K (I've completed the program once before with no issues) but when I'm running I'm getting pain along the side of my calf/ankle. It gradually grows as I'm running. I bought orthopaedic inserts for my shoes in case which seemed to help initially but I'm now running into the same issues.
Are you wearing proper running shoes fitted after a gait analysis done at a specialist running shop? If not, that may well be the cause. There is advice on shoes linked from the guide to the plan which is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
