So, the plan was to go out Tuesday. But that was a fools plan. The kids are on half term and Tuesday is a BUSY day in work.... from start to finish, so I borrowed the slack cutting scissors ✂️✂️ and gave myself a break.
This morning. Same again. Without the urgency of the school run and the regular routine, I'm afraid I have switched off a little. But, I since I was beginning to go on anxiety overdrive, I think I needed to...
Anyways, tonight, with my newish playlist on (I always put a couple of new tunes in so I get a nice surprise when I'm running 🎵 ), I went out again with a plan to run 30 minutes. Jo Whiley came out with me again- the moral support is great. (Sorry Couchy @Couchphoenix I've not got around to downloading the Nike app yet but I will do).
Also, since it was 20 minutes until sunset, I thought I'd give the new head torch 🔦 a try.
I kept it in my pocket until I needed it. I was on the streets but now with the council changing to the LED lights and not lighting up every light, I wasn't sure..... so... I took it.
I think, in the end, I looked a little odd (but I remember Jo Whiley in the early days saying she always looked as ridiculous as possible when running) and I am almost past the point of caring 😂🤣🤩 but I guess I was more visible at least. Safety first and all that.
I ended up completing 5K in, according to my Samsung watch, 37 minutes and 5 seconds)), but Strava disagrees. And I didn't *feel* like it was a quicker run- although I do have sore legs🦵🦵, so maybe I did??
If I do it again in anything like that time, I will take it as PB.
I'm waffling now! 🤭🤫 I'll get my coat 🧥🚪

Nice run in the twilight for you, good time, 37.5, not bad at all, in fact, very good, who knows soon you may get a sub 35 minute 5K, especially if you are running together with TT60, just watch out for those wild dogs which are roaming around which TT60 mentioned on her recent post.
You guys are funny!! Tinytears60 is an absolute hoot!! You want to go out drinking with her!! Well, we drink, she doesn't and has the place in uproar!! ❤ her.
To be honest with you Zoe I only "drink" on Christmas or New Year's Day, despite the fact that I am from Scotland.
Apparently those wild dogs run around in packs, especially at night, looking for runners or walkers, so if possible try running in daylight to avoid them to stay safe.
If you're out running with Tinytears60 , try to get ahead of her in case you slip on one of her chips. 🤣
Good going, and in the dark. I have a head torch too (one of Lidl's finest) but I haven't needed to use it in anger yet. I've now got plenty of reflective stuff (care of Aldi) too. I expect I'll start needing all that high visibility stuff by the middle of November, when sunrise will be after 7.30am again, just about the time I'll be back doing 30 minutes.
Sometimes a hard run which you didn't think was quicker actually was quicker.
It was good... comfortable enough to wear on my head, with my headband on as well to keep my ears warm.
The light wasn't super bright, but I think in the pitch black it would be good but the streetlights we shedding some light so need a good test really 😊
Well done lovely - does wonders to calm the head noise doesn’t it? 👌💕
Achy legs would suggest it was a fast one... faster than you perhaps think... can’t beat new tunes on your playlist to give you a spring in your step and a little push on 🎧 🎵
