So after graduating and then getting my first consolidation run under my belt, I was a bit naughty and for C2 decided to see how far in distance I could reasonably get within a reasonable time. Weather was lovely last Tuesday lunchtime so I went for it and managed to go for 5.4K in 44 minutes! Now I know this is quite naughty as I am not supposed to be going over 30 mins but I so wanted to get that magic 5k, it was constantly there, nagging at me! Now I’ve done it, I can pull back to the 30 minuters again as quite honestly, it did take it out of me!

As my legs were bit stiff afterwards, I waited til Saturday before going out again. Ran for 30 mins and was gobsmacked to see after that it was my fastest pace yet, despite it feeling like a snail 🐌!

Feel so good about sticking to the 30 mins now I’ve got that 5k under my belt.. yay! 🙏😃🙋‍♀️🏃‍♀️🥳

Brilliant honey. I haven't ran for a couple of weeks as wasn't too well, then we went to Cornwall. I did cycle and walk everyday and one day cycled 26 miles. Running still isn't my thing, but I will do it because I'm a stubborn cow.

Keep it up if you love it😊xx

Great to hear from you hon!! Wow 26 miles cycling, amazing!! Yes I am not a natural runner, I don’t have swathes of energy pouring out of me and honestly do struggle with motivation but, if I didn’t push myself out of the door, I’d do nothing! I work at home at a computer for 9 hours a day, 5-days a week and so I need to get some exercise and this is the cheapest, quickest way. I do feel immensely proud to have got a 5k and so want to keep it up as otherwise I’ll lose it then have to start again lol!

Keep on running, keep on running .. have to keep repeating the mantra!!!!! 🤣🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Well done 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻.

Sounds just like me ha ha... I was determined to run 5k on my birthday, I managed 5.3k in 45 mins and was well chuffed, albeit a bit red 😂

Then yesterday I ran and only could do 21 mins and my legs seized up 😢. Walked the rest. Still did 50 mins of exercise so not all bad.

I might try the run walk run ( Jeff Galloway) on my next run. Helps with lactic acid build up.

Have a good week 🏃‍♀️👍🏻☺️

Oh well done you!! Sounds like we had a similar pace on our 5kers.. so nice to get it in the bag isn’t it!!

Like the sound of the Jeff Galloway.. is it a podcast? I do stretch and roll my quads with a foam roller but think it must be age related too as I’m quite stiff a day or two later. Xx

Thanks 😊, was great to get it in the bag, we were naughty though ha ha.. probably why we both suffered on our next run!

He has a book and training plan, he is also a coach on Garmin, which I might do. I was reading about him in an old running world magazine, then googled him. I do roller and stretch but I agree age is probably a factor. I had a nice soak in the bath yesterday with Epsom salts after using my roller. Didn't feel too bad this morning.🤞

Now 8+ hrs sat on my bum...🙄

Our lives are a mirror! Just about to start a 45 hour week on my backside! 😕.

I shall research Jeff! I have an Apple Watch but should still be able to find him on my phone.

Have a good week.. hoping to get out Weds next - tomorrow is lashing down with rain looking at the forecast!
