Had checked the forecast & planned my run for 9 am when there was no rain. Jo said I should change my route for a 25 min run & I did for R1 & R2, but felt like running the usual park route I normally do this time. Was a great run, the leaves turning, the sun poking through the clouds.
Completed the 25 min on “Solid Ground” by Kiwanuka- tho I felt like I was flying on air by then. Walked a bit slower than usual for the warm down.
Had downloaded Strava for the last run. While sipping my tea after my breakfast when I got back home, thought I would check Strava. I couldn’t believe my pace!
5:13 per km- really??!! Me? I did 7:52 last time - my Apple Watch fudges the pace, but not Strava.
Thought I ran faster, but that fast? I think something is wrong with Strava, going to check.
What did I do differently this time?
- A good nights sleep - one hour extra due to the clock change- big plus
- I had my usual 1 litre of water between waking up and running
- A whole banana instead of half before the run- extra energy
- Someone in this community had recommended James Dunne, & I tried some of his strengthening exercises yesterday- one set of split squats - would they have made the difference?
Whatever it was, I feel great. I had decided this wasn’t about PB, just getting to 5k, & that’s what it will be.
Thanks for this app, and thanks to you all for your support. Best wishes for all your runs 💕
