Hello! First time on this and looking through posts you all seem like lovely people who motivate each other rather than compete!! So I’ve obviously piled on the pounds over the last 3 years (5 stone!) and looking to get rid of it for good! Just after some advice, I’ll be doing the C25K for exercise but diet wise when I do start a diet I seem to cut everything eat brilliant for a week then binge! Does anyone have any tips to combat this?? I really want to do it this time!!

Welcome to the forum and well done on your decision.

You don't need a special diet to do C25K, just a broad based intake of healthy foods.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Thank you, just read that word for word and I’ll take note of not running too fast and not doing consecutive days! Thanks again, big help!

Well done, its a massive decision to make 👏 and you have done the hard bit...

Now enjoy it, the app is Excellent, I would follow it to the max, and diet wise we all have the same issues, so your not alone some won't admit it, but they do....

As Ian says try to have a healthy diet, try slimfast and the NHS one you website its full of great ideas 💡 and tips....

Good luck on your New Healthy journey.

Hello, and well done for taking the decision to do C25k !

It's an amazing program .

And this forum is very supportive.

I tend to do like you said as far as the eating is concerned, I'll go for weeks being strong , then blow it for a few days 😂

Then back into it again 😁

But I think if you are doing this program and watching what you eat then your certainly on the right track !

Do read the 'How to run couch 2 5k' guide .

Make sure you keep well hydrated (as a runner that is approx 2.5 to 3 litres a day !)

I would also recommend doing the dynamic warm up excercises before running and then the post run stretches (this is all outlined within the guide)

Most of all, trust in the program , there will be times you may doubt your ability but just trust the program, it works ! 😁

Another tip , run slowly ! At a pace where you could speak without gasping for breath !

And keep posting here with ANY questions !

Most of all , Enjoy the program 😁👍

Both Slimming World and Weight Watchers have worked brilliantly for me at different times. I saved my treats for few 🍷at the weekend so I didn't feel deprived and it worked and I've kept the weight off this time . If you are doing c25k too that's brilliant. Good luck with your journey x

Ah lovely! We can keep each other motivated along the way! Is it C25K you’re doing or are you looking to change your eating habits/loose weight as well? Good luck for tomorrow!!!
