My achilles tendon seems swollen.. Should I see a doctor?

I think that is where it is. Just where my actual leg starts at the back. I is tender and now I can see there is a swelling, not huge but noticeable especially when compared with the other one.

Has anyone had a similar issue and what did they do?

I am on week 4, I have taken it slowly and repeated all weeks at least once and was going to move on to week 5 but feel a little unsure.

Thanks.

The worst you can do is self diagnose by surfing the internet. You can't even be sure if it's the Achilles and even if it is two different people would probably receive two different treatments. I'd ring a physio and ask for advice, then it's up to them what to do next.

Yes, I should probably do that! I think the ice suggestion is good too 🙂

In these strange days you're more likely to get a hands-on examination from a physio than from your GP.

I'd definitely recommend a physio visit. In the meantime, rest it and apply ice (bag of frozen peas inside a tea towel) to the swelling for about 15 minutes every three to four hours.

I had it on a hot wheat bag which was nice but probably ice would be better.

Thanks for the suggestion 🙂
