Little break and new shoes

Hello there,

I’ve been doing a few consolidations runs and had to take a break this week as both my children had colds (meaning we were up most of the night) and I really didn’t feel like running, also the weather has been vile this week!

However I’ve treated myself to a new pair of trainers which I am breaking in, but my question is...

how far should I run on my first one back?

I generally run anywhere between 28-32 minutes each time.

Thanks 😊

A week's gap shouldn't make much difference.

As stated in the guide to the plan, healthunlocked.com/couchto5... you lose no significant condition in the first two weeks of non running.

After that loss of condition is gradual.

All any of us can do after a lay off is to go out and see what we can comfortably manage, then build back up gently, using C25k or something similar as a guide to weekly increase.
