Hi, completed W8R1 today and really enjoyed it. It was tough but i managed to run for longer than i ever have in my entire life but also slightly increase my pace which im super proud of.

Problem is....my hip has been very sore and stiff after the last 3 or 4 runs. It's only on 1 side and after a days rest it eases. Does anyone else have hip pain being new to running or any tips to help? I have been doing strengthening exercises for a few weeks now.

Well done - not far to go now. I haven't had a hip problem, but have had strange foot problems that have come and gone and, at the moment, come back again. I've been thinking that these things are just because my body is so unused to this kind of thing, and the impact it has on my body, that all kinds of aches and pains will crop up. I guess the main things are a) to listen to your body and not go out if you're concerned - I'm definitely not one for just running through pain that feels more than muscles waking up: and b) not leaving things too long before you get some proper advice if something doesn't clear up quickly.

Strengthening exercises definitely helped me at the start. Hope you get some tips from others who have had hip problems (not that I'm wishing hip problems on anyone)!
