Plagued by Plantar Fascitis

I always warm up before a run and stretch after and especially focus on my calf’s and feet, I also wear insoles which are designed to help and I am not overweight.

Despite all of this I continue to suffer after a run any advice would be welcome as it’s getting me down a bit now 🙁

Thanks

I’ve had PF for nearly two years now. I have to plan my runs around when I know when it’s gonna be at its best. I’m a barber so as you can imagine it gets really sore at the end of the day especially if I’ve not stopped. I finish work at 12 on a sat. So I run on a Sunday morning as I’ve half a day to recover and my foot is normally ok by then. I’m off on a Monday so I run on. A tues morning before work. My foot is still (normally) ok on a Thursday morning as I’ve only done two shifts so can run then. Although I’ve not run this morning as my PF has been really painful. I had a week off work last week and for some reason after time off my PF really acts up on my first week back which is strange. Anyway I’ll start again this upcoming Sunday and hopefully next week it should be fine once again. PF is one of those conditions that affect people differently. Some people get rid after a couple of weeks and some (like me) stays with them for years. I know one person who’s had it five years and no amount of stretching and seeing special has helped. Just do what’s right for you and if it’s too painful then don’t run.

Thanks so much, mine just comes and goes but is so annoying and does deter me from running more frequently than I would like, was just hoping someone out there may have a Eureka solution or something I haven’t tried yet!

I don't think mine is Plantar Fascitis, but maybe related - I get a bit of pain on the outer blade of my foot. I read that taking faster, shorter strides puts less strain on everything generally and so have been making an effort to do this. Don't know if it's this that's helping or just getting more used to running - I've just completed week 7 - but pain has pretty much gone.
