First run week 4

I was dreading this one, but it’s turned out to be the one that made me realise it’s actually possible. Worked out it’s been my brain stopping me more than my body. If I focus on other things instead of the running it makes it so much easier! Managed to run the whole time asked while making a point of looking at everything and taking it in.

The inner battle is really the hardest, the program prepares your body for every next step, but the mind keeps telling to stop. Every run I have to keep asking myself "Is my breathing fine? Does my legs hurt? Then why should I stop?" and "If I stop now then I will have to do it again"

Sounds like you're nailing it - fantastic! You're absolutely right too... so much of it is mental! That's what this programme is great at .... preparing you mentally as well as physically for the run time increases. Enjoy the journey 👍🏻🏃‍♀️🙂

I’m really surprised and happy at how well thought out the jumps are from one week to the next. When they tell you how much longer you need to run I think “I don’t think I can do that!” But each time so far I’ve been wrong. Thanks for the support!
