Got up at 6am ready for W4R2 already feeling like a winner having managed a decent night’s sleep last night. Out of the house just before 6.30am, all was going well until Jo Whiley told me I had 1 minute left of my first 5min run...then she disappeared and didn’t talk to me any more. When the penny had dropped that I must have run for more than a minute, I slowed to a walk and got to the right place in the programme. I’m hoping this might just be a glitch in the podcast as it hasn’t happened in previous weeks but also happened for my first run this week. A bit disconcerting, I was then worried I’d overdone it and wouldn’t manage the rest of the session, but I got there. I do hope Jo comes back for W5, I need her!!

Jo Whiley stopped talking to me this morning 😢
That happened to me a couple of times at about the same point. It thought it was because of where I had my phone so I bought a belt thingy to put it in. It's been fine since
Try the NHS podcast. Laura never let me down.
There's a couple of possibilities.
Something touching the switches or screen during your run: get a belt pouch for it, and face the phone screen away from your body.
Battery management on the phone itself killing the app. You'll need to delve into the phone's settings to find how to exempt the app from this.
Out of memory killer in the phone. This is where other apps are competing for the phone's limited RAM and background processes get killed off. One way to help prevent this might be to reboot the phone ten minutes or so before you run.
