W9R1. Back on track after a week’s hill walking.

I was really shocked when I started my run after the 5 minute warm up. My legs felt like lead and my hips were screaming. I haven’t had to give up any run up to now but I seriously thought I was not going to manage. I slowed a bit and then started to feel settled. What a relief to complete it. I’m thinking of taking a couple of days off before I try W9R2.

Sounds sensible to take a couple of rest days if you've been hill walking for a week. One of my best runs in the programme was after a longer than intended rest. I thought the break would have a negative effect on my progress, but it was quite the opposite.

Good luck with your last two runs of week 9.... 👍🏻🙂

Thank you. I see you smashed it. Well done. What’re your running plans now? 🏃🏿‍♀️

Yes, thanks, I completed R3 on Tuesday 🤗

I'm going to consolidate now.... with 3 x 30 min runs for three weeks.

My goal is to reach 5K... I'm not sure if that will mean speeding up or running for longer.... or both.... but I'm going to take it slowly. Have seen lots of people advise on 10% rule... so will likely be guided by that.

Looking forward to hearing how your last couple of runs go, after your rest.🙂
